Graeme Hurren

Managing Director

Graeme has been Managing Director of Tait Controls since 2011, first joining the company in 1987 as an Automation Engineer. With close to 40 years of global experience across a portfolio of industries specializing in dairy, fertilizer, and canning, Graeme represents the automation industry through his adeptness and involvement over its course in New Zealand history. 

Qualifying as an electrician in 1980, Graeme undertook his apprenticeship in Te Puke and leapt into the industry as an electrician at the Morrinsville Dairy Factory. During this chapter, he was involved in the introduction of automation to the company which paved the way for his role as the Electrician and Automation lead for Dairy Containers (now Canpac).

 

Going on to achieve a Postgraduate Degree in Business Management in 2000 at Waikato University, Graeme demonstrates his dedication and appreciation for the profession through his strong leadership and deep technical aptitude built from years of service and experience.

Phill Moore

Senior Automation and Safety Engineer

Joining Tait Controls in 2015, Phill maintains the role of Senior Automation Engineer where he manages the team's electrical design, software and documentation development. With early technical grounding from an Electrical Fitters Apprenticeship with the Royal New Zealand Navy in 1991, this set in motion the high standard of workmanship and discipline of Phill’s career - a cornerstone which continues to be prevalent to this day.

Departing from the Navy in 2000, Phill continued his pathway with Independent Extrusions Ltd (INEX) as an electrical fitter before being promoted to a supervisory technical development role, managing and directing the installation and commissioning of INEX’s second extrusion line and factory service. Joining RML in 2005 as an Automation Engineer, Phill heavily influenced the growth of the group’s automation development.

 

A Certified Machinery Safety Expert (TUV CMSE®), Phill integrates his innovative advice and technical skill within every solution and application he manages.

Sarah Clark

Automation Engineer

Sarah became involved with Tait Controls in 2003 after completing a Bachelor in Engineering Technology (Electronics & Electrical Engineering) at Massey University. Tasked with the research and development of industrial Ethernet protocols within the company as part of her Postgraduate studies, Sarah soon joined the team on a permanent basis and now provides sought-after expertise in vision, coding and tracking systems.

 

Sarah showcases her talent in system integration through the many designs and applications of PLC, SCADA and MES systems she has managed and supported domestically and internationally. She continues to provide her renowned knowledge and expertise throughout a wide range of industries and many software and hardware platforms, excelling in anything from device-level communication drivers through to globally implemented management systems.

Daniel Rowe

Automation Engineer

Dan joined Tait Controls in 2017 after completing his Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Mechatronics, in 2015, furthering this with a Master’s in Engineering majoring in Mechatronics in 2018. Dan offers unparalleled programming and workflow abilities to the team, standardising our PLC and SCADA systems and expanding team efficiency through code generation and document automation.

 

With diverse industry experience and a variety of leading software and hardware proficiencies, Dan is a master in all things automation - PLC, SCADA, MES, app development and CAD packages to name a few. Dan's design, management and implementation skills have been showcased across many domestic and international applications and control systems.

Ben Dawick

Automation Engineer

Ben became a part of the Tait Controls team in 2021 as a Graduate Systems Engineer after completing a Bachelor of Engineering Technology, majoring in Mechatronics. Currently completing a certificate in digital design, Ben brings adeptness through concept and engineering to complement the quality and impression of the Tait Controls identity.

Trained by the talent of the Tait Controls team, Ben has been exposed to a multitude of industries, technologies and conventions that have exponentially developed and honed his skills in his role. With amounting experience from control system design through to integration and collaborative robotics, Ben offers a creative touch and Tait innovation to many aspects of the job.
